31 March 2012
No official fixture for Tannahill today but Tannahill 'A' were in action, going down 4-2 to Argyle. Boss Walter McManamay's thoughts on the game and on the race night are below.

"Christmas came early again for Argyle as Tannahill set them up with 3 of their 4 goals. Tans should have been 2 nil up at half time but found themselves 3-2 down. Good goals from Scott Muirhead and Kieran Small were cancelled out by some shocking play from Tans. The 2nd half was better as no more gifts were handed out and Argyle had to work for their next goal. Tans then went on to miss a penalty and hit the woodwork twice in another game that should have seen three points come to Tans.

" Thanks to everyone who attended the race night and all who donated prizes, a far better turn out this year and hopefully a good night had by all."

Thanks again.
Walter

10 March 2012
Tannahill's fixture was postponed today, but Tannahill 'A' played out a 0-0 draw with Clydesdale United.

03 March 2012
Goals from Willie Adam and Calum McDonald were enough on the day as Tannahill progressed to the 3rd round of the McLean Lothian Cup after a 2-1 win against 4th Division contenders Apex. Four goals in the last 20 minutes earned Tannahill 'A' a remarkable point against Glentyan. Amazingly Kieran Small grabbed all four goals in the 4-4 draw. Boss, Walter McMenamay commented:

"A definite game of two halves with Tans squandering chances in the first half and finding themselves three down at half time. They were quickly 4-0 down after a penalty award to Glentyan.

" With the game looking dead with only 20 minutes left Tans got a break with a fortunate goal that caught out Glentyan's keeper, hit the bar and fell kindly to Kieran Small who tucked it away. This seemed to give Tans a bit of belief as they then started to push forward. They soon got a second as again, Kieran Small got through and rounded the keeper to slot home then again for a third soon after. The fourth followed immediately with a lash home from close range. A good 2nd half performance from Tans and four good goals from man of the match Kieran Small."

Both Tans teams were on the wrong end of heavy defeats today. Tannahill were turned over 6-2 by Cotters, with Stephen Grant and debutant Craig Girvan on target. Tannahill 'A' went down 5-1 to Clydesdale United with only a "rather lucky goal" from William McMenamay to show for their efforts.

Frazer Martin11 February 2012
After a struggling start to the season, Tannahill have found some form. Their third win in succession saw them beat Boswell today. John Kennedy and Frazer Martin bagged a brace each in the 4-2 victory.

Tannahill 'A' lost 5-3 to FC Argyle but manager Walter McMenamay was not too down.

"A fantastic performance on Saturday by all players, Tans started very well and soon went one up with a fine finish from Craig Jack. We soon went behind when a rather weak ref gave Argyll a penalty that surprised everyone then soon after, a freak rebound from a challenge 30 yards out somehow found the bottom corner of Tans goal.

"Some good work from Lee McMenamay created a chance for Craig jack to slot home his 2nd of the day. Then some silly mistakes crept in to allow Argyll to score a couple more before Tans scored again through Gary young with a fine finish.

"A 5-3 defeat, but a lot of positives to take from a game we could well have won."

Lee McMenamay14 January 2012
Tannahill picked up thier first league point of the season with a 1-1 draw with Linwood Welfare. Chris Haldane was on target for Tans. Tannahill 'A' lost narrowly to Abercorn. Lee McMenamay and Kieran Small scored in the 3-2 defeat.

John Kennedy07 January 2012
Two heavy defeats for the Tannahill teams today. Tans lost 8-3 to Boswell with John Kennedy, Fraser Martin & Scott Muirhead scoring. Tannahill 'A' went down 6-2 to Glenburn Athletic. Manager Walter McMenamay had this to say.

"Decent start to the game by both teams with a few chances being missed. "Glenburn took the lead which was quickly cancelled out by Stephen Hall for Tans who got clean through on the keeper before rounding him to slot home.

"The second half was shocking with Tans losing every ball and going behind 6-1 (a couple of gifts from us contributed and a goal that never was awarded by the ref never helped matters). Then sub and new signing Kieran Small scored on his debut to make it 6-2."
