This match was played on astro grass at Toryglen. With
about 20 players to chose from I unfortunately had to
leave some boys in the pub but I felt I had to pick
what I thought was a strong line up after Boswell beat
us 5 -1 on our previous meeting.
Boswell started better than Tannahill and camped out
in the Tans half for about 20 minutes when they finally
broke the deadlock.
15 minutes later Tans were down to ten men after James
Taylor got sent off but Tans saw out the first half
without conceding further goals. At half time the formation
had to be changed but Boswell continued to press. However,
a combination of poor finishing from the Boswell forwards
and some exceptional goal keeping from John (The Cat)
Campbell in the Tannahill goal, Boswell couldn't increase
their advantage.
All three Tannahill subs were put on with half an hour
to go and this made a slight change as Tans started
to create some chances. With Boswell looking for another
goal some gaps were opening up for the hard working
Tans but chances came and went.
Right on full time Tans won a free kick about 30 yards
out and Chris Haldane stepped up and stuck a belter
right into the top corner to earn Tannahill a hard fought
1-1 draw.
